Track and Field Recruiting

The University of Richmond cross country and track & field program welcomes a decorated class of 18 recruited student-athletes to campus this fall to continue their academic and athletic careers. The Spiders' incoming class will allow the programs to continue their standard of excellence at both the conference and national levels. In all, ten states and the Netherlands are represented by the incoming class."

"These student-athletes recognize the combination of the quality education offered and the NCAA D1 athletics opportunities and experiences offered here at Richmond" continued Taylor. "We embrace our uniqueness among schools offering division I athletics and the amazing opportunities offered, including the Richmond Guarantee and Richmond's Promise to Virginia. There really is no place like the University of Richmond and these student-athletes were able to see how much our school has to offer. It's going to be a lot of fun to watch them develop academically and athletically over the course of their collegiate careers."

"Our philosophy and objectives over the 22 years Lori and I have led this program remain focused and resolute. We are driven to produce winning teams and individuals each and every year," men's cross country head coach Steve Taylor said. "This includes men's cross country, women's track & field and cross country All-Americans in addition to achieving success in the classroom. Each year our teams look to the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships, ECAC/IC4A Championships and the NCAA Championships as their benchmark."

The Spiders will look to members of this recruiting class to have an immediate impact as they compete during the cross country, indoor and outdoor seasons.
