"This class is outstanding from a standpoint of quality and building more depth on our current team that has very few seniors," Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Dave Cianelli said. "Each of these individuals has the ability to contribute at the conference level immediately and eventually the national level. I envision this class helping to make the 2022-23 season the most successful in the history of our program."
SEB ANTHONY - Bury St. Edmunds, England - Distance
Anthony comes to Virginia Tech by way of Queens University, where he was the runner up in the 800m at the 2021 NCAA DII Indoor Championships. His time of 1:48.74 in the event ranks as the eighth fastest in DII history. Anthony won the 1,000m at the Hokie Invitational this previous weekend, going 2:20.07 to set a new school record and holds the fastest time in the NCAA this season.

HAILEY HUSTON MYLES - Phoenix, Ariz. - Triple Jump
Another transfer that joined the Hokies this spring, Huston Myles brings considerable collegiate experience to Blacksburg. The three-time All-Big South triple jumper from Campbell holds the third-best jump in conference history at 13.03m (42' 9"). In her debut for the Hokies, Huston Myles set the second-furthest mark in the Virginia Tech record book when she won the triple jump with a leap of 12.82m (42' 0.75").

JUDSON LINCOLN IV - Columbia, Md. - Sprints -
Oakland Mills' accomplished sprinter signs with the Hokies having won both the 200m and 400m state titles outdoors in 2021, adding those titles to his regional wins in the 100m, 200m, and 400m. So far in 2022, Lincoln has run the 400m in 47.90 seconds, currently second in the nation, and the 200m in 21.63, ranked eighth in the nation.
"We're definitely doing the right things because we're attracting top athletes out of high school," Associate Head Coach Tim Vaught said. "Judson is a huge talent, and I think he's going to run even faster before this high school season is over. We're ecstatic to have him with us, and I know he's going to keep the winning tradition going here at Virginia Tech."

KENNA STIMMEL - Castalia, Oh. - Pole Vault -
The 2019 and 2021 state champion out of Margaretta High School signs as another of Assistant Coach Bob Phillips' distinguished vaulting signees. Stimmel has broken the Ohio state pole vault record twice and finished the 2021 outdoor season ranked second in the country.
"We are thrilled to have Kenna joining the team," Coach Phillips said. "She is an outstanding athlete with terrific speed and is a fierce competitor. Kenna jumped over 14' three times during her junior year of high school, and it will be fun to watch what she does this year as a senior."

RYAN CHEVALIER - Maineville, Oh.- Distance
Chevalier, a cross country and distance specialist, signs for the Hokies from Loveland High School. The All-State runner boasts PRs of 4:14.58 in the 1,600m, 14:42.00 in the Three Mile, and 4:18.04 in the mile.
"We are excited about the very talented group we have signed for the class of 2022 in the mid-distance/distance events," Head Cross Country and Distance Coach Eric Johannigmeier said. "They are all very competitive and are excited to become Hokies, and I know they will fit right in with the group we currently have."

KYLIE COOPER - Rocky Mount, Va. - Distance
A product of Franklin County High School, Cooper brings her mid-distance skill to Blacksburg. Cooper led the state of Virginia in the 800m, going 2:09.00 and winning the VHSL state title in the event outdoors. Cooper also won the state championship in the 1,600m indoors with a PR of 4:58.50.

NICK PLANT Canfield, Oh. Distance
Another Ohio signee, Plant won the state 800m title outdoors in 2021. The mid-distance specialist from Canfield High School boasts a PR of 1:49.39 in the event, ranked first in the state and eighth nationally this past year.

Joining Tech out of Golden High School in Colorado and > FTR recruit> , Reeburgh boasts several county titles in both cross country and track. The Jeffco distance product brings with him personal bests of 4:16.47 in the 1,600m and 14:41.99 in the cross country 5,000m. ***

CHARLIE STOCK - Westfield, N.J. - Distance
Stock joins the Hokies out of Westfield High School in New Jersey, where he won county championships in the 800m with an outdoor PR of 1:52.46. The 800m man boasted the fourth best 800m indoors last year and the fifth best 800m in the state outdoors.
Virginia Tech is a public institution that was founded in 1872. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 30,020 (fall 2020), and the campus size is 2,600 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Virginia Tech's ranking in the 2022 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, #75. Its in-state tuition and fees are $14,174; out-of-state tuition and fees are $33,253.
Virginia Tech, a former military technical institute in Blacksburg, encourages students to “invent the future.” It is a research powerhouse, with seven research institutes and two university research centers that offer undergraduate and graduate students research opportunities. Graduate offerings include programs in the highly ranked College of Engineering. The university sports teams, known as the Hokies, compete in the NCAA Division I Atlantic Coast Conference. Students account for more than half the total residents in Blacksburg. They can participate in more than 600 clubs and organizations, including a large Greek system of more than 50 fraternities and sororities. Freshmen must live on campus, and the school has renowned dining facilities. Notable Hokie alumni include football player Michael Vick and talk show host Hoda Kotb.
