Bucknell University Track & Field Recruiting Class of 2024

Bucknell track & field and cross country head coach Kevin Donner announced the addition of 48 student-athletes to the 2024-25 rosters. The Bison welcome 19 new members for the men's team and 29 for the women's squad.

The Bison men's teams finished fourth at the Patriot League Indoor and Outdoor Championships during the 2023-24 season. 12 new additions were added to both the indoor and outdoor top ten lists. Ethan Wofford-Tuffy broke the school record for the indoor 400-meter dash.

"This is one of the best recruiting classes ever for the men," said Donner. "We strengthened quite a few events with men who can contribute to our success right away and we also brought in a few guys who will help us in a year or two after gaining some experience. Seven men bring in times and distances in their respective events that are better than any other recruit in our school's history. With most of our top men returning and this incoming class coming in, our men's program looks promising in the next 2-3 years. My staff worked very hard on this class and we cannot wait to get this group on campus this fall."

The Bison women placed fourth at both Patriot League Championships and achieved numerous impressive individual honors during the 2023-24 campaign. Six indoor records were set by Karen Hull (long and high jump) and Meghan Quinn (60-meter, 200-meter, 300-meter, and 400-meter dashes) while 19 top-ten marks were set.

The accomplishments did not cease in the outdoor season. 24 top-ten additions occurred along with six more school records. Hull reset the high jump mark. Abby Eisold broke a 41-year-old record in the heptathlon. Freshman thrower Justley Sharp made her presence known by setting the discus and shot put records. Quinn broke her marks in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes.

The Orange & Blue sent four athletes to the NCAA East Preliminaries. Freshman javelin thrower Evelyn Bliss, who won gold at the Patriot League Championships, finished fifth and earned NCAA National Championships qualification. Sharp performed admirably in the discus and shot put. Brylee Tereska improved 12 spots from her 38th-place performance in the 2023 NCAA East Preliminaries. Hull finished her collegiate career by tying her 5-9 ΒΌ school record mark. Bliss unlocked Second Team All-America honors at the National Championships with a 13th-place finish. She became the fourth All-American in Bison women's track & field history. Bliss won the U20 javelin throw for the second consecutive season and will compete in the Olympic Trials on June 28th.

"We recently graduated a large and talented class, but with some hard work by my coaching staff, we brought in a large and talented group of women, whom I consider one of our best female classes ever," said Donner. "Five women bring performances in eight events that are the best in school history for an incoming first-year. I am extremely excited about the depth and balance of this class in all the event areas. Some of these ladies will help us immediately and others will contribute in a year or two. The Patriot League has improved tremendously at the top and we needed this type of incoming class to help us compete at or near the top. We cannot wait to get this group of ladies on campus and work with them."
