FTR’s CHASE CARTWRIGHT

College Track and Field Recruiting

Tulane's track and field / cross country programs are adding 23 student-athletes for the 2023-24 season, Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Adrian Myers announced recently.

"We are very excited about our newest members to Green Wave Track & Field and Cross-Country", Coach Myers stated. "I believe they represent the standards of our program and will strive for the championship outcomes we envision. You will notice the make-up of this class has championship pedigree both nationally and internationally. These athletes have competed at the highest levels and expect to contribute to our success immediately. The vision set forth for our program long-term has been for collective success across all three seasons but also for sustainable growth of that success. Meaning, we have one ambition, and that is to bring trophies to Uptown and always be prepared for what that takes annually. The parabolic movement shown over the last two years is only the beginning of what we believe is coming over the years ahead."

"This class is heavier in the distance events as we aspire to grow that area now towards NCAA national class in cross-country while continuing to be in the fight for AAC Championships both indoors and outdoors every year moving forward," Myers explained. "Though we have lost a few upper-class heavy hitters in the field events and middle-distances specifically, we have a young group in the field that has developed quietly over the last year under great mentors. We expect big things from our returning roster in the upcoming academic year. Our staff has done a tremendous job this year in coaching the current roster up and lifting the bar in recruiting as to what we are looking for at Tulane University. We want elite minded athletes to commit to our elite institution. This class understands that you can be 100% athlete and 100% student, you don't need to prioritize one over the other to be great at both. It simply requires the right student-athletes. And we believe we have set a high bar with this class. Our staff is so excited to welcome our new Greenies to Tulane and cannot wait to watch them elevate in our program. Roll Wave!"
